Goal.com Mobile for Android is basically a feed reader tailored to World Cup soccer coverage. It has an exhaustive list of news feeds (no audio or video) for all the different teams, with options to save and share articles via e-mail, Facebook, text message, and so on. You can choose your favorite teams and subscribe to their news feeds, as well. If you have ever wanted to increase your knowledge of soccer, this is a great way to do it.
The application features easy-to-navigate tabs, including World Cup Breaking News, Live Scores, and Club News. Each tab has multiple subcategories, such as Features, Guides, Profiles, and Standings. Unfortunately, the app gives you no way to configure alerts or notifications of real-time scores, and it's too bad--that would have been a great feature. A search function would have been nice, too, but you won't find one here.
Nevertheless, Goal.com for Android does provide a staggering amount of information about a large number of international teams and players. If you're a soccer fan, this free app is definitely worth a try during the World Cup and after.
