SeekDroid Review
Seek Droid is a great mobile security app for people who don’t want or need a lot of bells and whistles.

If you've ever lost your phone, you know what a stressful experience that can be. On top of having to obtain another phone, you have to worry that whoever found your lost device now has access to all your personal data. Seek Droid aims to relieve some of your stress by helping you track down your phone if it gets lost or stolen. Seek Droid installs itself as a security administrator, enabling you to manage your phone remotely in the event that something happens to it.
The app itself is simple but functional. You can create a new Seek Droid account and toggle certain permissions (for example, giving the app permission to format your MicroSD card), but that's about it. As is the case with Lookout Mobile Security, the bulk of Seek Droid's functionality comes from its Website Seekdroid.com. There you can locate your phone on a map, check the ten most recent calls made from the phone, and remotely lock or wipe your device as well. You can also have your phone display a message on screen while a loud (and mildly irritating) alarm plays. If you're worried that someone might try to uninstall the app, the Seek Droid Website gives you the option of having your phone hide the app in your app drawer.
What makes Seek Droid different from the other mobile security apps we've examined is that it doesn't scan for malware. Because of this, the app isn't constantly running in the background--and draining your battery. Seek Droid seems to be geared more toward everyday users who are less worried about malware than about losing their phone. It's definitely worth checking out for anyone interested in trying some new mobile security software.
