PCW Privacy Report Is Finalist in Top Awards

Our September special issue is a contender for a National Magazine Award--our industry's top editorial prize.

PC World's "Privacy in the Internet Age" report (see link at right) is a finalist for the magazine industry's most prestigious editorial award.

Our privacy report will compete with articles from Consumer Reports, Glamour, Good Housekeeping, and Town & Country for a National Magazine Award in the Personal Service category.

Marlene Kahan, executive director of the American Society of Magazine Editors, announced the finalists on Wednesday. Overall, 73 finalists were chosen from among 1320 print and 60 new-media entries.

A series of five articles, "Privacy in the Internet Age" explores the hot-button topics of data mining, e-commerce and credit card fraud, identity theft, corporate hacking, and aggressive marketing tactics--and reveals what can be done to combat the loss of privacy in a wired world.

Earlier this month, the report won PC World the American Business Press's Grand Neal Award--the top prize for editorial excellence in business publications. In the last five years, PC World has earned a record 10 Neal Awards.
