Trellix said Thursday that it is adding blogging capabilities to its private-label Web publishing tools, allowing developers to integrate the popular Weblogs into their sites.
The Concord, Massachusetts, company provides Web site publishing software and services to Internet service providers and other Internet companies, enabling them to offer the services to their customers.
By adding blogging capabilities to its cache of Web tools, Trellix is allowing its customers to offer a new fee-based service.
Building Blogs
Blogs, which resemble online discussion boards, have become a popular form of Web dialogue recently and companies are beginning to integrate the capabilities into their sites.
Trellix said that users will be able to use the blog tools to create, maintain, and share personal journals, essays, dialogue, and expert advice forums.
Weblogs let users share knowledge, show off expertise, and create closer relationships through frequent postings, Trellix Chief Technology Officer Dan Bricklin says in a statement.
Trellix licensed the blogging technology from Pyra Labs in 2001.
