Sony on Thursday announced a new Clie PDA with a built-in 2 megapixel camera.
The PEG-NZ90 includes a still and video camera with flash and auto-focus, an MP3 player and voice recorder, a remote controller for audiovisual devices, Bluetooth connectivity, and an expansion slot for an 802.11b wireless networking card, the Tokyo company said in a statement.
Photographs, video clips, and voice can be recorded on Sony's Memory Stick storage cards, Sony said.
The PEG-NZ90 also includes a viewer application from Picsel Technology of Glasgow, which allows the user to view Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, and image files, the company said.
Getting Connected
The new Clie comes with a redesigned USB cradle with a video output jack so that .jpeg images stored on the device can be viewed on a monitor or TV. The cradle also has a USB port so that images can be sent to a printer, the company said.
A rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack will last for about 10 days depending on use, Sony said.
The PEG-NZ90 will be available in the U.S. by the end of February for about $800, with additional battery packs available for about $80, Sony said. The company did not give details of availability outside the U.S.
