Top 10 17-Inch CRT Monitors

The new CTX VL700 vaults to the top of our rankings of 17-inch CRT monitors.

Due to an editorial oversight, our April 2003 Top 10 Monitors chart has changed since it was originally published, resulting in slightly different rankings from those we originally published.

The ViewSonic G71f+B, which was previously omitted through error, debuts at number five, thanks to an affordable price and above-average text quality. The IBM P77 rejoins the list at number seven, with top-notch image quality, despite being the priciest 17-inch CRT in our test set. Two previous chart members--the KDS USA XF 7b and the AOC 7F--fall out of the Top 10. Though they carry extremely low prices, their image quality couldn't match that of monitors higher up the chart.

PC World regrets the errors.
