Top 10 19-Inch CRT Monitors

New models from Philips, Hitachi, and Hansol earn places on the chart, while an expensive monitor from Eizo Nanao misses the cut despite outstanding graphics.

The Samsung SyncMaster 957mb tops the chart again this month. It earned high marks in our tests for text and graphics, and has features such as a highlight box that you can move and resize.

Though the number two Philips 109B43 has a couple of extras, its image quality fell slightly below the Samsung's. Its price, however, beats the 957mb's by $100.

The ViewSonic G90f, which was originally omitted from this chart erroneously, comes in at number four, combining high graphics quality and a low price. PC World regrets the error.

If you have deep pockets and image quality is your top priority, you may be interested in a model that didn't make the cut: the Eizo Nanao FlexScan T766. This monitor earned the only Outstanding rating for graphics this month, and its text quality matched that of the first-place SyncMaster 957b. But its price, $689, was higher by $370.
