At this Virgin Islands resort, guests can Google and snorkel (not at the same time), because it's the first Caribbean property to offer wireless Internet access on its beach, according to a resort spokesperson. Lost in Translation? Ja, nein, and Marlene Dietrich are the only German words I know. So on a trip to Berlin this fall, I'm hoping for help from Aim High's Talking TR-2203 ($199), a handheld audible language translator. Presumably, I should be able to type in a phrase like "That's disgusting!" and out of the device's speaker will come a voice saying "Das ist ja ekelhaft!" (The TR-2203 also speaks nine other languages.) I'll let you know how it goes in the next issue of Digital World.
