Network appliance vendor EnKoo has introduced a new remote-access device designed for medium-sized businesses.

The EnKoo3000 is a remote-access appliance that allows up to 200 employees to concurrently secure Web-based access to e-mail, files, and applications located on their PC or corporate server.

It is a 2U rack-mounted appliance with 128-bit SSL encryption authentication and password protection.

Bigger Business

EnKoo has previously focused on devices for smaller businesses, but the EnKoo 3000 has more features designed for enterprise users, says Ajit Deora, CEO at enKoo.

"We have support for LDAP and Active Directoryas well as SSL VPN, which are enterprise features we didn't have before," he says. The product also includes Citrix support and secure access to MS Terminal Service including XP SP2 environments.

Customers have an option to purchase the Citrix Secure Connector or Terminal Service Secure Connector software.

Integration with LDAP allows a company to maintain a single database of users and to interface with industry standard authentication servers.

The EnKoo 3000 is the third in a series of similar products from the company. It is priced at $3995 for 25 concurrent users to $9995 for 200 concurrent users.

The EnKoo devices compete with VPNs and other remote access products from Citrix Systems, Famatech, PC Anywhere, Netopia's Timbuktu, and LapLink Software.
