Can the Archive

Prevent ICQ from logging messages you send and receive.

By default, ICQ 99 saves all incoming and outgoing messages in a message archive (get to it by selecting ICQ, Message Archive from the main ICQ window). If you'd prefer that ICQ not log all your communications (for security reasons, or if you'd rather not waste disk space), do the following:

Double-click the flower icon in your system tray to bring up the main ICQ window.
Select ICQ, Preferences.
Click the Accept tab.
Under General, click to place a check mark in the box beside "Do not log event history."
Click OK.
