Notebook News: Dell Enhances XPS Gaming Portable
Dell has announced some enhancements to its XPS Gaming Notebook, including the addition of the nVidia GeForce Go 7950 GTX notebook graphics processor, the ability to tune Intel Core 2 Duo processor performance, and Dell's XPS LightFX technology, which lets you synchronize the portable's lights with supported music or games. OS News: Know the Difference Between Vista 'Capable' and 'Premium'?
Heads-up: Is that notebook you're planning to buy "Vista Capable" or "Vista Premium Ready"? And do you know the difference? PCs labeled "Windows Vista Capable" can run lower-end versions of Microsoft's upcoming Windows OS refresh, such as Windows Vista Home Basic. Computers designated as "Windows Vista Premium Ready" can run the higher-end versions of Vista, such as Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Vista Ultimate. GPS News: Enhanced GPS in Microsoft Streets & Trips
Microsoft says it has improved GPS functionality in the latest version of its travel and mapping software. Microsoft Streets & Trips 2007 With GPS Locator ($129) includes a new GPS receiver that is ten times more sensitive than its predecessor and therefore more accurate, according to Microsoft. The GPS device plugs into a notebook running the Microsoft software via USB port or connects wirelessly via Bluetooth using an adaptor.
