Newer Offers Slim Battery Pack for Video iPod

Newer Technology on Wednesday announced the NuPower ViDEO+ rechargable battery pack for the video iPod. It costs US$49.99 and extends video iPod runtime up to 16 hours for video viewing, 80 hours for music.

The battery pack doubles as a portable charger, and can fully recharge a video iPod's depleted battery up to three times before it needs to be recharged. It includes a stand, docking station and belt clip. It's compatible with 30GB, 60GB and 80GB video iPod models (a spacer is included for the slimmer 30GB model).

The belt clip enables you to use the ViDEO+ while it's charging the iPod. The device incorporates power on and charge status LEDs, and can recharge directly from an iPod sync cable.
