News: BlackBerry With Business, Consumer Features
The BlackBerry 8800 adds consumer-oriented features to a device that's similar to the business-oriented BlackBerry 8700. Its features include integrated GPS navigation, a 2.4-inch color screen, a full QWERTY keyboard, a high-capacity battery, and trackball navigation instead of the thumbwheel found in so many business-oriented BlackBerry models. AT&T will be the only U.S. provider.
News: Laptop Reportedly Burns Down a House
A blaze that destroyed a single-family home in Maine has been blamed on a Dell Inspiron 1200. The notebook had been placed on a living-room couch and was plugged in and recharging, according to local fire officials. Oddly enough, this was the second house fire reportedly caused by a laptop in that area since last summer.

At 6 pounds, the Fujitsu LifeBook A6010 is the lightest notebook with a 15.4-inch screen in our All-Purpose test group. You can configure it as a light entertainment laptop or a budget-business portable. One drawback: Our $1419 test machine came with a four-cell battery that lasted only 1 hour, 32 minutes, which is less than half as long as most other notebook batteries.
