Vlip is a new video sharing community with a twist. What makes Vlip different from services like YouTube or Google Video, according to its creators, is interactivity. Powered by Internet video service software SightSpeed, Vlip is designed to provide users with threaded video messaging capabities.

SightSpeed board chairman Eric Tveter likens Vlip to the legendary Speaker's Corner of Hyde Park in London, England -- an area which, for more than 100 years, has served as a location for public speeches and debate.

"By combining interactive communications with social networking in real time, Vlip provides a forum for the kind of free-flowing debate that has made Speaker's Corner so famous for promoting public exchanges of expression," said Tveter.

Vlip enables users to link postings and their replies together, not just on the Vlip.com Web site but also on other Web sites, blogs and wikis, so viewers can see entire sequences of video exchanges rather than just fragments of one user's video or another.

Vlip.com works on both the Mac and Windows.
