In Pictures: NHK's Successor to HDTV

Engineers at Japan's NHK have demonstrated progress on Super Hi-Vision, a future replacement for today's HDTV systems.

Until now NHK used this experimental Super Hi-Vision camera, which contains four image sensors with half-SHV resolution. A new image sensor just developed should change this.
