Memory maker Kingston Technology on Wednesday announced two USB microSD reader and card bundles aimed at users who have a mobile phone or other device that uses the tiny card and a computer. The company is bundling the reader with a 1GB card for $19 or the reader plus a 2GB card for $37.

The reader features a USB connector to attach it to a Mac or PC, and sports a memory expansion slot that accepts the microSD card. MicroSD cards are increasingly used on mobile phones, “smartphones” and other portable electronic devices that need expanded memory storage capacity.

The USB card reader bundled with the 1GB is black, while the reader bundled with the 2GB card is red. Like other “mass storage”-compliant memory devices, the reader appears as a new drive in the Finder when it’s connected to the computer.

Because of its small size, Kingston includes a key loop for the reader so it won’t get lost. You can even attach it to your mobile phone if you wish.

The reader is USB 2.0 compliant and works with Mac OS X v10.x and later.
