Apple has released AirPort Extreme Base Station with 802.11n Firmware 7.1.1, a firmware update intended specifically for its new square AirPort Extreme Base Station. The update is available for download from Apple’s Web site.

The update features all the same changes made with the Firmware 7.1 fix, plus additional compatibility updates for the AirPort Extreme Base Station with 802.11n. No additional information was available.

The 7.1 update was released in April and included a number of changes to improve stability and support for various features.

The update measures 4.6MB, and requires Airport Utility 5.1 to install. Again, it’s only intended for AirPort Extreme Base Stations with 802.11n capabilities.
