Apple on Wednesday reported a profit of US$818 million for its fiscal third quarter. Apple shipped 1.7 million Macs, representing 33 percent growth over the year-ago quarter and exceeding the previous company record by over 150,000. The company also sold 9.8 million iPods during the quarter, representing 21 percent growth over the year-ago quarter.
