Panasonic Digital SLR Features Face Detection

Panasonic on Thursday introduced its new Lumix DMC-L10, a digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera that's coming in October, 2007 for $1,299.95.

The DMC-L10 sports a 2.5-inch "Live View" LCD display that can rotate 270 degrees, and has a 10.1-megapixel sensor equipped with a "Supersonic Wave Filter" system to remove particles and dust from the sensor.

The DMC-L10 features face detection auto focus capabilities, which also sets auto exposure and can detect up to 15 human faces simultaneously. It sets ISO automatically by measuring the movement of the subject.

The DMC-L10 was designed for consumers moving into a DSLR from a compact digital camera for the first time. It has features like a Mode Dial to provide access to frequently used settings and five scene modes.

The DMC-L10 ships with a Leica D Vario-Elmar 14-50mm/F3.8-5.6/Mega O.I.S. lens.

Panasonic's Web site had not been updated with information about the DMC-L10 as Macworld posted this article.
