AOL Offers New Desktop Software for Mac

AOL is offering a new version of its Desktop software for Mac for the first time in five years.

AOL on Friday announced the release of a new version of AOL Desktop for the Mac, now available as a public beta.

AOL Desktop is an integrated application that enables AOL subscribers to access the service's many features and capabilities. The new version of the software is Leopard-ready, according to the company, and features tabbed browsing, AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) integration, support for multiple e-mail accounts and enhanced toolbar functionality.

The new release is the first major update to AOL's integrated software for Mac in more than five years, according to the company.

In conjunction with the public beta release of AOL Desktop for Mac, AOL has launched a new blog to provide a forum to discuss the software.
