LightSnake USB MIDI Cable Debuts

SoundTech Professional Audio on Wednesday added to its arsenal of audio cables for musicians by announcing the LightSnake USB MIDI Cable.

SoundTech includes several features in its products to take the guesswork out of the often complicated musical setup. For Instance, SoundTech has a patented technology called "Live when Lit" that makes the cable ends glow when they are properly connected.

According to the company, the LightSnake USB MIDI cable connects with any standard MIDI instrument or controller and plugs directly into the computer's USB port. The cable requires no drivers for Mac OS X and can be used with many Mac-compatible digital audio workstations including Apple's consumer-friendly GarageBand.

The 10 foot heavy-duty shielded cable sells for $79.99. It is expected to be on store shelves in the next two weeks.

The USB MIDI cable joins the Instrument to USB - which allows you to go directly from a guitar to the computer - and the Mic to USB - allowing you to go from a microphone to the computer.
