PhotoVu on Thursday introduced its PV1765w, a wireless digital picture frame containing a 17-inch widescreen LCD panel display. It's priced starting at $699.

The display operates at 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and features a hidden slot you can plug a USB thumbdrive into. The display features wireless networking support, and software built in to the product lets you interface with Apple's iPhoto software on a remote Mac, Google Picasa and RSS feeds. The software will automatically resize photos to fit the frame.

PhotoVu offers the PV1765w in a variety of customized picture framing options, with customized matboards as well. Specs on the display are 250 cd/m2 brightness, contrast ratio of 500:1 and pixel pitch of 0.291mm. The software can display images up to 5616 x 3744 pixels. It weighs approximately 18 pounds, depending on frame.
