What your money buys you: In the Gamer Infinity Ultimate, you get a blistering-quick Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 processor overclocked from 2.6 GHz to an impressive 3.46 GHz, as well as 2GB of DDR2-RAM. Accompanying the processor is a Vigor Gaming Monsoon II CPU cooler, which employs a powerful Peltier cooler.
For storage you have not only two 150GB, 10,000-rpm Western Digital Raptor hard drives configured in a RAID 0 array and an additional 500GB hard drive, but also a LiteOn Blu-ray Disc optical drive ($557 value) that can store up to 25GB of content per disc. A Logitech G15 gaming keyboard with its own LCD screen and 18 programmable buttons, as well as a ViewSonic VG2230WM flat-panel display, are included in the bundle too.
The Gamer Infinity Ultimate also comes with dual SLI XFX GeForce 8800GTX graphics boards, meaning it'll perform extremely well with games optimized for SLI support. Of course, you should check game support pages to be sure that the titles you're hoping to play are on the beneficiary list.
Drawbacks: A quad-core processor is arguably still overkill and utterly useless in modern games, including titles as recent as Crysis. And housing the system is the bland-looking Cooler Master CM Stacker 830 case. Then again, who really cares how it looks if it's sitting under your desk, right?
Bottom Line: The Gamer Infinity Ultimate is a moderately priced high-end game machine with dual-graphics-card muscle and expansive storage options.
