Roxio Updates Popcorn for Leopard

Current users of the video transcoding software get a free update with bug fixes and Leopard support.

Roxio has released Popcorn 3.0.2, an update to its video conversion software for Mac OS X.

The new update is free for registered Popcorn 3 users. Popcorn costs $49.

Popcorn is used to transcode video to different formats, including versions suitable for Apple TV, video game consoles like the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, portable devices including the iPod and the PlayStation Portable (PSP), and burned to DVD. It supports TivoToGo, batch encoding, imports from Elgato's EyeTV and more.

The update to Popcorn adds compatibility with Mac OS X v10.5 "Leopard." It resolves an issue where DVD chapters were not correctly preserved as bookmarks; DTS audio is no longer incorrectly identified as MPEG-1, the language of audio tracks is now properly displayed; users can properly switch between PAL and NTSC output settings for DVD-Video and more. Users need to be registered to log in to Roxio's site, in order to download the update.
