Photo Contest: Hot Pics for November

Gianna writes: "I was taking photographs of my daughter while she played in her woodland fairy outfit in the backyard. I suggested she lay down on the grass and pretend to be asleep. She did and the full-color version was very sweet. I decided to make it look more like nighttime by layering a bluish tone version with Paint Shop Pro and adding the 'fireflies' with an AutoFX plug-in."

Myka writes: "This boat carried about 100 Haitian refugees to the island of San Salvador, Bahamas, where they tried to blend in. Unfortunately, they were deported because it's hard to blend in on an island of just 1000 people. The boat is currently stuck on the north shore of San Salvador."

Diane says that she captured this photo while vacationing in Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. She took the photo with a Canon Digital Rebel XT.

Diana writes: "I took numerous photos of my granddaughter on the beach one afternoon, all within a few minutes. I decided to combine three of the photos into one, using Layers in Adobe Photoshop Elements. When presented with the finished photo, my granddaughter was thoroughly confused!"

Olga writes: "I used a Canon PowerShot S2 1S to take this photo. Last summer I was at a beach in Estonia and there was a plethora of ladybugs. To make it look a little more interesting, I used Adobe Photoshop to change the color of four ladybugs."

Sarah writes: "The Grand Hyatt Hotel in Shanghai is located in the Jin Mao Tower, the tallest building in China. The center of the tower is open all the way from the hotel lobby on the 53rd floor to the observation deck on the 88th floor. I took this photo while looking down from the observation deck, using a Nikon E4600."

Walter writes: "I took this photo at my granddaughter's favorite park. I used a Nikon D50 in aperture Priority Mode. I then did some light editing using Corel Paint Shop Pro XI."
