Iogear took the wraps off of its new 2-port Dual-Link DVI KVMP & MultiMedia Switch. The device is intended to allow gamers and audio/video mavens to share a dual-link DVI display, USB keyboard, mouse and surround-sound system between two computers. On display at Macworld Expo starting Tuesday, the new device costs US$399.99.

The switch can manage consistent resolutions when switching between computers. It can also pass High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP)-encrypted video signals, which will allow users to watch protected high-definition video.

The device also passes 7.1-channel surround sound. It supports DVI resolutions up to 3840 x 2400, and can switch independently between keyboard, video and mouse (KVM), USB 2.0 peripherals and audio ports.
