GizMac Accessories on Friday announced details on their XRackPro2 Studio model, a new equipment rack especially designed for studios, home theaters or other applications that don't require servers. It will cost US$1,799 and should be available for pre-order by the end of the month.
The XRackPro2 Studio is 12U tall but its a little bit shallower than a conventional equipment rack. It's useful for rack-mounting audio and video gear, computers, storage systems, backup equipment, networking and other gear that's designed with a small chassis depth. It will also allow some non-rackmount equipment to stand vertically inside it.
The XRackPro2 Studio rack reduces noise levels, because it's fully enclosed, and it's on casters for easy portability. The company will produce the rack in both platinum and black finishes.
