Namco Bandai flexed its Tekken 5 mojo last week, extending the available online modes of Dark Resurrection while staying mum on a series follow-up.

New online enhancements by way of a downloadable update include continuous one-on-one matches, DualShock 3 rumble support, room name display, auto selection of opponents with optimal connection speeds, player notifications, and the resolution of multiple bug issues.

Ardent fans hoping for an announcement on a proper Tekken sequel will have to wait, as Namco has yet to unveil its plans for the franchise. Tekken 5 was originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2005, followed by Dark Resurrection for PSP in 2006.

The PS3 version of Dark Resurrection was released in March 2007, followed by an August 2007 update which allowed for online multiplayer replete with leaderboards. Both games can be purchased as a bundle from the PlayStation store for US$29.99.
