Say it ain't so. Despite having his music featured in both Guitar Hero III and Rock Band, Weezer front man Rivers Cuomo suggests that playing rhythm games is a waste of time.

"I don't get those games at all," Cuomo told Joystick Division in an undated interview published on last week. "I mean, I haven't tried them. But they must be fun because people love them.

"But, to me, it seems like if you're going to put that much effort into playing something, you should just play a real instrument," he said with a laugh.

It's unclear whether Cuomo was merely being cheeky, or if he seriously doubts the investment spent on becoming an expert faux guitar player.

Multiple Weezer songs are featured in both Rock Band and Guitar Hero III, which pay artists to license the use of their music.
