More than 100 NFL players wanted to be on the cover of Madden NFL 09. The man who ended up there couldn't care less about the series.

Appearing on the cover of Madden NFL franchise is often seen as an honor for many players in the league, but don't tell that to current cover boy Brett Favre.

Favre, who retired at the end of the 2007/2008 season, will be featured on the cover of the latest Madden game as a swan song of sorts to his long-running NFL career.

Here's what he had to say about the honor in an interview with ESPN:

"I'm not savvy enough to play this game. Most of the younger generation has no idea [Madden] coached...Some of our guys play Madden better than they play on Sundays. And they spend more time talking about playing Madden," the NFL veteran and future Hall of Famer had to say.

Hey Brett, if you don't want it, I'm sure there are several GamePro readers who would love the opportunity.
