Windows virtualization application Parallels received an update on Friday, adding some significant new features to the Mac program.

Among the changes is support for Microsoft Windows Vista SP1 with Boot Camp and Microsoft Windows XP SP3 with the Boot Camp support. Vista SP1 (Service Pack) and XP SP3 were recently released updates for Windows.

In addition to supporting the latest version of Windows, Parallels 3.0.5600 also fixed several issues including a problem that caused a Kernel panic on the Mac Book Air. Another issue that caused Mac OS X high CPU usage and bad responsiveness was also fixed.

Other improvements include fixes for SmartSelect and Shared Folders, which improved transfer speeds.

Parallels Desktop is available for download from the company's Web site.
