Spanning Sync is entering beta for 2.0 with some pretty big new features, including the ability to sync contacts with Google.

Spanning Sync 2.0 beta allows you to sync your iCal calendars with Google's calendaring application. Beginning with 2.0 the application will sync your Address Book with Gmail and Google Apps. The beta also includes "lots of fixes" throughout the application, including those involving shared calendars and shared accounts.

The 2.0 public beta can be downloaded from the company's Web site.
