New Dock Connects IPod to Harmon Kardon Receivers

Harman Kardon on Thursday introduced The Bridge II, a new docking station that connects Apple iPods to Harman Kardon receivers. It will be available early this summer for US$129.

Designed to connect to the DMC 1000 digital media center, the HK 3490 stereo receiver and other The Bridge-ready receivers, The Bridge II enables an iPod or iPhone to display its menu, be operated by remote control and charge remotely. The Bridge II will also be included with the new AVR 354, a 7.1-channel A/V receiver from Harman Kardon.

The Bridge II is compatible with all iPod and iPhone models equipped with a dock connector. In addition to displaying the iPod's information on the DMC 1000 receiver's front panel, The Bridge II also enables the receiver to display iPod information to a connected TV.

Harmon Kardon's Web site had not been updated with information about The Bridge II as Macworld posted this article.
