Epson's Latest All-in-one Printer Costs $99

Epson America on Tuesday introduced the Stylus NX400, a new all-in-one printer compatible with Macs and PCs priced at US$99.99.

The NX400 outputs black and color text at up to 34 pages per minute. An all-in-one device that features a built-in scanner, it has a 2.5-inch LCD you can use to edit and print photos without having to use a Mac to see what you're doing. It sports one-touch copying and scanning buttons and produces smudge-resistant prints using Epson's "DURABrite Ultra" ink cartridges.

The printer's maximum output resolution is 5760 x 1440 optimized dots per inch (DPI); the scanner's resolution is 1200 DPI. The scanner features a 48-bit color bit depth. The printer can output 4 x 6-inch borderless photos and can print on up to 8.5 x 11 inch paper.

The printer sports a built-in PictBridge port for printing from PictBridge-equipped printers; it also has built-in memory card slots compatible with Compact Flash, Memory Stick, SD, SDHC, MultiMediaCard, xD-Picture Card and other formats.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later.
