Google's YouTube has become the latest online video site available through Sony's Bravia Internet Video Link service in the U.S.
Users of the service can access websites such as Yahoo and AOL to stream online videos to a Bravia TV without the use of a PC.
To access the Bravia Internet Video Link, consumers must purchase a small module, priced at around $300, which attaches to models of the LCD flat-panel TV range manufactured from 2007 onwards. The TV can then be linked with an existing ethernet connection for access to the service.
"Sony was one of the first to bring streaming internet video to the TV in the US without a PC, and now you can access one of the most popular online video destinations on your Bravia TV," said Randy Waynick, senior vice president of Sony's Home Products Division.
