Konami on Thursday launched a free knowledge base for PS3 owners, by way of the PlayStation Store, to help clear any confusion surrounding the series' plot twisting story.

According to Konami, "The Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots database is an in-depth encyclopedia that gives you information on everything you ever wanted to know about the Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid universe."

Specifically, the dbase includes character bios, classic artwork, and text-book size amounts of history, all of which underscore the complexity that is the Metal Gear storyline. What's more, the interactive guide will hide all spoilers for MGS4 owners until they complete the game.

The database is now available as a free download from the PlayStation Store.
