Another day, another iPhone plan. Sonera, the provider who has an exclusive deal to distribute the iPhone in Finland starting on July 11, has released information on four separate rate plans for the iPhone: three standard monthly plans, and a fourth that appears to be sort of an à la carte plan, allowing you to choose which services you want.
Like my Dutch, my Finnish is not what it once was (I constantly confuse the adessiivi case for the essiivi case--how embarrassing!), so I've again had to resort to machine translation.
Overall, the Finnish rate plans seem very similar to what we've seen from other European providers, such as the Netherlands, France, and Switzerland. Of course, it's hard to judge whether or not a plan is a good deal merely by converting the prices to U.S. dollars; without knowing what relative prices are for similar services, it's an inexact science at best.
And, at the behest of some readers who found my Joyceian stream-of-consciousness narration of iPhone plans difficult to read, we present this information to you in the form of an easy-to-read table (don't say we never gave you nothin').
