Yazsoft has released Speed Download Lite 1.0.2, an update to its "stripped down" download manager software for Mac OS X. It's a free update for registered users, and costs $20.

Speed Download Lite helps you manage software and data downloads over the Internet and networks. It acts as a central unified hub for all downloading and file transfer actions on your Mac.

New to the 1.0.2 version is RSS newsreader integration -- it's been tested with Newsgator's popular newsreader NetNewsWire. It is now optimized for Mac OS X 10.5.4, has transparency when in minimized mode, has been localized into Russian, installs properly in accounts that use FileVault, and no longer switches to the "In Progress" filter automatically when starting up.

System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later and 19MB hard disk space.
