St. Clair Software updated its open and save dialog utility Default Folder, fixing several issues the application had with Microsoft Word 2008.

Among the changes specific to Word are a fix for Spotlight keyword saving so that it works in Word 2008 Save As dialogs. The update also fixed a problem that caused Default Folder X to not include folders in its Recent Folders list when saving in Microsoft Word 2008.

Other changes include a fix for the Open in Terminal feature so it works in Leopard and the exception list did not work correctly if you added an application while the "Show all file extensions" preference was turned on in the Finder. This has been fixed.

The update is free for registered users and costs $34.95 for new users.
