Outspring has stopped developing the QuickMail client and server products, the company said. Final updates for the products have been released and are available for download.

According to Jeff Baudin, Outspring president and CEO, because QuickMail was written in an old incompatible version of CodeWarrior, "it has become almost impossible for us to continue development on these products."

The company has also suspended all sales and phone support for QuickMail products. Customers who have purchased QuickMail products within the last 90 days will still be entitled another 90 days of telephone support, according to Outspring. They also recommend the user forums if help is needed.

Baudin said the company will focus on Outspring Mail for the Mac and its spam fighting products. He also said that an all new QuickMail Server is planned, but no timeframe was given.

Updates for QuickMail client and QuickMail Server can be downloaded from the company's Web site.
