MathType 6 Math Notation Editor Supports Leopard

Design Science has announced the release of MathType 6, a new version of its mathematical equation editor for Mac OS X. It costs US$97. Upgrades are priced at $49.

MathType is billed as "the professional version of Equation Editor." It enables you to create mathematical notation for use in word processing, Web pages, desktop publishing software, presentation, and for TeX, LaTeX and MathML documents. Features include broad font support, the ability to easily find and input symbols, support for applications including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign, Excel and more; support for Wikipedia; point-and-click editing, color support and more.

New features in MathType 6 include support for Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard," Universal binary support, support for Microsoft Office 2008, the ability to define equations using TeX and LaTeX, equation browsing, unlimited undo and redo, MathML 2.0 support and more.

System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, 20MB hard disk space.
