inXile Entertainment has announced the forthcoming release of Line Rider for the iPhone and iPod touch. It's an adaptation of the popular game available for online play, and it will cost $2.99.

In Line Rider, you draw a landscape with a simple pencil tool, creating ramps, hills and jumps. Then you test out your landscape by sending a boy on a sled down the hill, until he wipes out. The game's been enormously popular since it was created in September, 2006, and has generated a sequel that's soon to debut on the computer and Nintendo Wii and DS consoles.

The iPhone version of the game will feature the ability to upload and download tracks on the Web, according to inXile.
