Planned PC purchases for the next 90 days looks pretty dismal unless you're Apple, according to a new survey from ChangeWave.

The company did a survey in mid-August that had over 4,400 participants, measuring planned PC purchases. Only eight percent of respondents plan to buy a laptop in the next 90 days and five percent plan to buy a desktop.

However, responses to which computer consumers will purchase was favorable for Apple. Planned purchases for an Apple laptop was 34 percent and desktops was 40 percent. Both were all time highs for Apple in the survey.

Eight percent of respondents said they will be spending more money with Apple over the same period a year ago, while four percent said they would be spending less. The iPhone 3G may have something to do with that -- 17 percent said they are more likely to purchase a Mac because of the new iPhone.
