Video Game Foe Disbarred

The latest activist faulting video games for the ills of society lost his last 1UP in Florida last week, after the state supreme court disbarred him permanently. It seems his frivolous lawsuits and outspoken antics finally caught up with him.

This doesn't mean Thompson can no longer advance his views or act as an "expert" on CNN to hate monger on video games, but the former Florida attorney damaged what little creditability he had left with the disbarment Thursday. He could technically practice law elsewhere, but it will be difficult.

Thompson gained notoriety in recent years, particularly with gamers, for his harsh and critical views towards video games. Before that, he wasn't a big fan of 90s rap music either.

As part of his disbarment, Thompson was ordered to pay US$43,675 in reimbursement fees to the Florida Bar.
