Why Doesn't This Program Open in a Window?

Sonny wants to know why, when he launches a particular program, it minimizes to the task bar rather than opening in all its glory.

The problem lies, I suspect, not in your application, but in the shortcut you use to open it.

Try this: Right-click that shortcut (if you don't know what I'm talking about, it's the icon you normally double-click to launch the program) and select Properties. This will bring up the program's Properties dialog box, with the Shortcut tab highlighted.

Look to the Run pull-down menu. I'm going to guess that you have the option Minimized selected. To fix the problem, change that selection to Normal window and click OK.
