The Macworld Best of Show Awards, presented each year at Macworld Conference & Expo to the best products making their debut at the annual trade show, will be unveiled during a live, on-stage Feature Presentation at the January 5-9, 2009 expo.
The one-hour Best of Show ceremony will be held on Wednesday, January 7 at 3:00 p.m. at the Moscone Center. Open to all registered attendees, the ceremony will give everyone a chance to find out who the winners are and hear Macworld editors explain why certain products were awarded the honor.
"The past two years we've brought the very best products on display at Macworld Expo to the attendees live on stage, and the event has been a big hit," said Jason Snell, Macworld's VP and editorial director. "We're happy to have made this an annual tradition in which our editors show off to the world the very best the Mac can offer."
The process for exhibitors to submit their products for Best of Show consideration is very similar to last year. In order to be guaranteed consideration, exhibitors will need to submit their products to Macworld's editors by December 13, 2008. (Macworld's editors will sign confidentiality agreements to cover products that won't be announced until the show begins.)
Of course, this year marks the first time applications for the iPhone will be considered for the Best of Show. While we will not have a special category for iPhone apps, we invite those developers to submit their products, as well.
While Macworld will work with all developers to ensure that their products are considered for the Best of Show awards, only products received before the deadline can be guaranteed consideration for the Best of Show.
