iSimple on Monday announced the availability of iPod docking interface kits for cars and trucks built and sold between 1995 - 2007. They cost about US$119.95.
The kit comprises a "brain box" and a wiring harness that connects the iPod into the CD changer port found on the back of compatible vehicles' factory-installed stereo system. The device -- called a PXDP -- enables you to listen to the music from your iPod directly, rather than going through an FM radio.
In addition to clear audio from the iPod, the device also charges the iPod's battery and provides track forward/track back capabilities using the factory stereo interface.
Compatible models include cars sold by BMW and Mini, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Saturn; Ford, Lincoln and Mercury; Acura, Honda, Isuzu, Scion and Toyota; Chrysler, Dodge, Eagle, Jeep and Plymouth, and Audi, Jaguar and Volkswagen.
