Motorola unveiled the VE 66 phone Tuesday, a new slider phone with a 5 megapixel camera, 2.2 inch screen and Motorola's proprietary 'Crystal Talk' feature. Motorola claims that this new feature improves the voice clarity during calls especially conversations made in noisy environments. The phone will be available in two versions, one that supports UMTS/3G and the other only meant for GSM use in China.
The phone runs on Montovista, a Linux OS and sports a 500MHz Freescale SCM-A11 processor. You can also record videos in QVGA with the 5MP camera. The phone's interface can be navigated with the help of a 'FastScroll' touch-sensitive navigation wheel. The phone's connectivity features include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support. The phone is also integrated with news widgets. In terms of multimedia, the VE 66 has an MP3 player and FM Radio. The phone has an internal memory of 110MB and supports microSD cards.
The VE 66 is expected to be launched by the end of the year.
