Sir Paul McCartney is offering his latest side project as a DRM-free digital download available as high-quality MP3 files, FLAC files and Apple Lossless files.
The move comes at a time when once again The Beatles back catalogue has been delayed from debuting on iTunes, due to what McCartney calls "a couple of sticking points."
Under the name The Fireman, McCartney and collaborator and producer Youth, an original member of influential cult band Killing Joke, are offering 'Electric Arguments' as high quality 320kbps DRM-free MP3s, FLAC files and Apple Lossless files, all available to download from The Fireman website.
A Radiohead style 'Digital + Deluxe Limited Edition,' box-set offers a full vinyl package, 13 track CD, 7 track CD containing bonus mixes and alternate versions, DVD containing hi-definition audio recordings 24bit 96Khz, DVD containing multi-track session files for a selection of the album tracks allowing you to remix, exclusive art print, extensive booklet and immediate download of files.
The Fireman's 'Electric Arguments,' has received rave reviews since it was released in November, with The Sunday Times calling the new collection of songs: "The most exciting McCartney album since Band on the Run."
The Daily Telegraph added: "Embracing raw blues, delicate folk, gospel, country and dubby psychedelia, it's like a solo White Album and confirms the ex-Beatle's resurgence."
MySpace users and visitors to The Fireman website can currently listen to the new album for free.
