Home entertainment peripheral maker Marantz America has introduced the IS301 Wireless Dock for iPod. It's priced at US$250 and it's coming in January.

The IS301 is designed to provide wireless audio playback for an iPod connected to a home entertainment system. It can also work as an extended wired system, transmit both audio and video files.

The IS301 includes a handset that attaches to the iPod and a compact base unit that attaches to the home entertainment system. An optional RX unit provides advanced wire connections -- CAT5-1/2 audio control and CAT5-2/2 video, with support for analog stereo audio, component, S-Video and composite video support. The RX unit also features an InfraRed (IR) flasher input and RS-232C control, and can be connected to any device that supports the Bluetooth A2DP device profile.

Marantz plans to demonstrate the new system at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada, which happens at about the same time as Macworld Expo.
